The presence of increased hair growth is divided into two pathological entities, hypertrichosis, which affects both sexes, and shaggy hair, which affects only women.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dastrichism is the growth of terminal hair in areas of the body abnormal for women affected by androgens, such as the upper lip, cheeks, chin, mid-chest line, breasts, underbelly, back, buttocks and inner thighs.<\/span><\/p>\n

REASONS<\/b><\/p>\n

Classical causes of hypertrichosis are the intake of various drugs such as cortisone, the antiepileptic phenytoin or the immunomodulatory cyclosporine. Also pathological conditions such as hypothyroidism, neurogenic anorexia, late cutaneous porphyria (usually from alcohol overconsumption), etc. A common case of localized hyperpigmentation is hair growing on moles (moles) and the topical use of minoxidil on the scalp for alopecia, which may stimulate hair growth on the adjacent face as well.<\/span><\/p>\n
