WHAT IS BUTULINIC ACID? BOTOX-DYSPORT

Botulinum toxin A, a protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, has been used in medicine since the 1970s. In 1992 it was approved by the FDA for cosmetic applications in dermatology and plastic surgery and is now considered worldwide to be the most popular cosmetic procedure. In Greece, two types are available under the trade names Botox or Vistabel and Dysport or Dysline.

In Aesthetic Dermatology it is used to treat dynamic wrinkles, i.e. wrinkles formed by the contraction of the facial mimic muscles, such as those of the forehead, between the eyebrows (midface), around the eyes (goose leg), nose wrinkles (bunny lines) and wrinkles of the mouth (smoker's wrinkles).

You should not forget that the only doctors who are legal to apply the method are dermatologists and plastic surgeons. Anti-aging is an important chapter of their specialty, the application of the method is their exclusive subject, and its development is an important chapter in all their Greek and international conferences.

Very small amounts of the drug are injected with a special technique and precision into the target muscles by the aforementioned specialized doctors. The purpose of the treatment is to cause a temporary cessation of the hyperactivity of the facial muscles, which will result in a significant reduction of wrinkles and a dramatic improvement of the facial appearance.

Of great importance for the final result is the exact positioning of the drug, the exact injection dose, always depending on the mobility of the muscle, and the overall application plan, which is defined according to the needs of each person and in each case this plan is individualized. It is a fact that, just as all faces are not the same, the degree of ageing of each person is different. Therefore, the total dose of the drug therefore differs from person to person and, consequently, the price differs
of each treatment.

The result comes quickly, in 7-10 days and lasts for several weeks depending on the application site and the intensity of the wrinkles. Side effects are minimal and in any case are completely reversible when the doctor is very familiar with the application of the method.
It has been fully documented that the early and regular application of toxin not only improves the facial appearance, but also prevents the formation of many permanent static wrinkles to the point that today its application is the mainstay of all anti-aging treatments on the face.

So when you want to look rested and refreshed and when you want to rediscover a younger and fresher version of your image, visit your dermatologist and consult him for all the facts and details of the treatment with botulinum toxin A.

You should always remember that the only doctor who has a say in your skin is your dermatologist.
