CELLULITE

Cellulite is a very common topographical modification in which the skin takes on an "orange peel" or "layer appearance." In this particular condition, alterations occur in the adipose tissues and also in the microcirculatory coming from the blood and lymphatic system which leads to the hardening of connective tissue fibers.

It is considered to be a non-inflammatory, degenerative phenomenon that causes lesions in the hypodermis creating abnormal undulations in the epidermis and overlying affected areas.

It does not pose any health risks, but it is an aesthetic problem that negatively affects the psychology of 90% of the female population worldwide.

REASONS

Cellulite is essentially localized lipodystrophy and is due to:

  • Hormonal factors (menstrual disorders, pregnancy, menopause)
  • Dietary habits (fats, carbohydrates, alcohol, smoking)
  • In disorders of adipocyte metabolism
  • In disorders of microcirculation
  • In venous or chronic lymphatic stasis
  • Obesity

WHAT WE DO

  • Hydration of the body
  • Reduction of alcohol consumption
  • Avoiding smoking
  • Proper nutrition
  • Frequent exercise

THERAPY

For the treatment of cellulite, various invasive methods are applied which are performed only by specialized dermatologists:

  • Mesotherapy: This is a method in which subcutaneous fat-soluble substances are injected subcutaneously.
  • Lymphatic massage: it can be performed in combination with mesotherapy - or not.
  • Endermologie (LPG): the method combines mechanical massage with diet and exercise.
  • Electro-acupuncture: this is a painless method of cellulite treatment, as no needles are used.
  • Cavitation: this method uses focused ultrasound.
  • Laser: Applied to the subcutaneous adipose tissue.
